30 - GRAMMY NOMINATED PRODUCTION AT WOODLOCH, An Elegant Afternoon of Theatre, Great Music, Shocking Hollywood Secrets, Champagne and Fabulous Hors d’oeuvres to Benefit United Way, 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Stars of the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall and Broadway, Theodore Lambrinos and Hallie Neill will perform “A Scandalous Affair” at the Woodloch Pines Heritage Theatre. “A Scandalous Affair” was just nominated for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards in the category of “Best Musical Show Album”. The show is beautifully sung with a remarkable script that rivets the audience attention from beginning to end with glorious music, comedy and heartbreak. The show reveals one of the great Hollywood cover-ups: the Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy love affair. Their scandal-plagued love story was first exposed in the best-selling book Sweethearts ©2001, by Sharon Rich. “Rock stars” of the 1940’s Hollywood movie musical, and secret lovers for 30 years, MacDonald and Eddy self-destructed after the interference of the powerful MGM studio bosses triggered a series of tragic events. Laced with humor, Hollywood secrets and real-life love letters, Neill and Lambrinos become Jeanette and Nelson right before our eyes – with a spectacular mix of music by Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Rodgers and Hart, Victor Herbert, Verdi and Puccini! This is a great opportunity to see a pre-Broadway opening, Grammy nominated production in your backyard with fabulous hors d’oeuvres, and flowing champagne for a cost of $100 per person. Hurry, as seating is very limited. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see two great stars performing locally and to make a significant contribution to United Way. To order your tickets, call United Way at 570-343-1267. To peek inside A SCANDALOUS AFFAIR visit www.jeanetteandnelson.com
