Get set for the spectacular Independence Day Fireworks display over Lake Wallenpaupack on Friday, July 4, 2008!! Lighthouse Harbor Marina has pledged their support to ensure this family tradition continues. As a major sponsor, this is the 14th year Lighthouse Harbor Marina has participated! The Chamber thanks all businesses and individuals who have stepped forward to support this annual tradition, and we urge everyone to join Lighthouse Harbor Marina and donate to continue this vital event. The support is essential, and the event will be breathtaking! The Chamber again welcomes International Fireworks Mfg. Co, who promises to present a custom-designed fabulous display over Lake Wallenpaupack!! Other supporting sponsors to date include Bakker Marine, Wallenpaupack Marine Trades Assoc., Woodloch Pines Inc., Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, The Dime Bank, Lake Region Supermarket, Hawley Market, LLC, Ehrhardt's Waterfront, Sterling Marina, Inc., 1st Klas Marina, Gresham’s Chop House, the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce, Wallenpaupack Area High School, PPL, and numerous area businesses, property owners, and residents. This display is fired near the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack, next to the Wallenpaupack Area High School, and will begin at approximately 9:15 pm. (Dusk). Parking will be available in the High School parking lots, and the bleachers will be open to spectators at approximately 7 pm. Viewing the fireworks will still be available by boat from the Lake, as well. Due to insurance requirements, there will be a 1000 Ft. restricted area surrounding the firing location. You won't want to miss this breathtaking event, so come out and enjoy the fireworks extravaganza. A rain date for the fireworks is planned for Saturday, July 5, 2008. Donations are still needed to offset costs and continue this important family occasion at Lake Wallenpaupack. Please make checks payable to the H-LW Chamber, and send to the Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 150, Hawley PA 18428, or drop off contribution at Lighthouse Harbor Marina. Also, a ticket will be drawn, and a lucky individual will win the spectacular gas grill, generously donated to the Chamber of Commerce by Eastern Propane Corp, Hawley. Tickets are still available!
